Biography

Accelerance CEO Steve Mezak has extensive experience integrating in-house and global outsourced development teams, producing dramatic cost and time savings in every case.


He is a veteran of six startups, including Aspect Development (sold to i2 for $9 Billion) and Digital Market (sold to Agile Software for $75 Million). Steve has served in a variety of management and technical roles, including CTO and CEO. In addition, he has more than 25 years of software development experience, from writing software code to managing large software teams and budgets.


Steve is co-chair of the Software Development Forum special interest group for Software Architecture and Modeling (the SAM SIG) and a member of the core team volunteer for the Engineering Leadership SIG (the EL SIG). Check out our monthly meetings when in the Silicon Valley area.


Steve attended UC Berkeley, the City University in London, and holds a BS Degree with High Distinction in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Worcester, Massachusetts He continues to serve as an advisor to WPI’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. Steve received the Goddard Award from WPI in 2008 for professional achievement.


An internationally acclaimed speaker and author, Steve’s most recent book Software without Borders: A Step-By-Step Guide to Outsourcing Your Software Development, was selected from over 3,000 entries to receive the Gold Independent Publisher Book Award in the Computer / Internet category.
